The facility is tailored specifically to meet the unique requirements of varying genders and age groups. Acadiana Treatment Center addresses a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, delusional disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and conduct disorder. Admission requires clients to possess a full-scale IQ of 70 or higher or to provide compelling evidence that their mental health symptoms have adversely affected their IQ. The treatment modalities utilized at Acadiana Treatment Center are grounded in research, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), individual and group therapy, stages of change, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Additionally, the staff may implement the 12-Step recovery approach as appropriate. Located in Sunset, Louisiana, Acadiana Treatment Center’s accommodations are also designed to be gender and age-appropriate. Clients share rooms with a maximum of one other individual, and the restrooms are communal. The center boasts recreational facilities, including an outdoor basketball court, a fishing pond, a fully equipped gym, and an arts and crafts area. Acadiana Treatment Center is accredited by CARF and actively participates in The Jason Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness and preventing youth suicide.
