Behavioral Health Center at Porter Health Village, by Norman Regional Health System and Oceans Healthcare

Oceans Behavioral Hospital has partnered with Norman Regional Health System to offer residential care at a 48-bed facility located in south central Oklahoma. Known as the Behavioral Health Center, this facility caters to adults facing various issues including anger, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self-harm, stress, trauma, as well as alcohol and drug dependencies, personality disorders, and co-occurring conditions. The center employs a range of treatment approaches, such as individual counseling, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), group therapy, medication management, relapse prevention strategies, relaxation techniques, and 12-Step Facilitation. A particular focus is placed on clients aged 55 and older who are dealing with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other age-related issues. This facility utilizes the expertise of both Oceans and Norman Regional, and it is situated near additional Norman Regional treatment centers that address trauma and various other health matters. The psychiatric team assesses both progress and medication adjustments on a daily basis, while clients have the ability to track their progress through the patient portal provided by Norman Regional during and after their treatment. Oceans Behavioral Hospital maintains a network of multiple locations across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, with several sites dedicated to addressing mental health issues related to aging or military service. An increasing number of facilities also focus on mental health services for adolescents. Some of these locations are developed in collaboration with other healthcare organizations, including Ochsner Health. In addition, Norman Regional Health System operates various clinics and hospitals within the Norman and Oklahoma City regions.
