Bluff

Bluff is a residential treatment center dedicated to assisting individuals battling substance use disorders related to alcohol and drugs, as well as co-occurring mental health issues. Affiliated with the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University, Bluff is part of the Rivermend Health Centers Network and holds membership in the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). The center employs a blend of physiological techniques and evidence-based strategies, integrating holistic practices supported by scientific research. Treatment modalities encompass cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the 12-Step model, individual and group therapy, life skills training, equine therapy, yoga, hiking, and neuroscience-informed interventions. Additionally, Bluff is accredited by the Joint Commission and collaborates with various insurance providers. Nestled on a serene and verdant 178-acre property in Augusta, Georgia, near the Savannah River, Bluff occupies a renovated hunting lodge, accompanied by four cottages containing dual rooms, each featuring two full-sized beds. The facility has the capacity to serve up to 16 residents. To foster a calm atmosphere conducive to recovery, Bluff refrains from providing internet or television access. Meals, prepared by a skilled culinary team that includes a five-star chef, are served family-style and designed to promote natural increases in clients’ dopamine levels through balanced nutrition.
