About
Since its establishment in 1994, Camino a Casa has been dedicated to supporting children and adolescents involved in foster care and educational systems. Over the years, it has broadened its offerings to include a targeted rehabilitation program aimed at teens aged 9 to 17 who face issues like behavioral problems, self-injury, depression, and trauma. Camino a Casa provides various services, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, and in-home behavioral health support.
The program features a well-structured curriculum with comprehensive mental health treatment provided by experienced clinicians and psychiatrists holding master's or doctoral degrees, and it includes continuous 24-hour supervision with an average staff-to-youth ratio of 1 to 4. Typically, the residential treatment lasts between 30 to 90 days and encompasses educational support, group therapy, recreational activities, and expressive arts. Additionally, adolescents can participate in animal-assisted therapy with a friendly dog on site and enjoy horseback riding at a nearby facility.
Family involvement is vital to the program, with parents participating in weekly family therapy sessions every Saturday. These sessions offer opportunities for specialized support groups and enjoyable bonding activities with their children.
The Camino a Casa facility is located on a 25-acre property in Camarillo, California, featuring seven residential units and ten classrooms. Youth have access to amenities such as a fitness center, music room, swimming pool, sports fields, and ample hiking trails. Importantly, Camino a Casa now accepts private insurance.
