CADAS (Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services)

About

Situated to the north of the Tennessee River, CADAS (Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services) provides comprehensive support for adults and teens aged 13-17. The center offers a range of services including medical detoxification, residential treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and transitional living solutions. Their therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based individual and group therapies aimed at helping clients regain stability in their lives. To assist those transitioning back to everyday life, CADAS arranges transportation for clients to various appointments and facilitates connections with peer support networks. A significant aspect of CADAS's treatment is the medication available to clients that helps mitigate cravings, particularly for substances like opioids and alcohol. They are equipped to prescribe medications such as Buprenorphine, Suboxone, or Vivitrol. The programs at CADAS have established schedules and are designed to continue as long as beneficial for clients. While residential treatment might last around 28 days, the IOP, medication-assisted therapies, and aftercare can extend for up to a year. The IOP is conducted either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon or in the evenings on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aftercare sessions are available on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m., with medication appointments occurring at various times throughout the week. Additionally, CADAS offers a 12-hour class held bi-monthly on Saturdays, which includes a Spanish option. This program is open to clients of all ages, with a specific curriculum for teens that addresses the dangers of drunk driving. The fee for the class is $125 for residents of Tennessee and $200 for those coming from out of state. CADAS features three transitional living arrangements to aid clients in their recovery journey. The Oasis Halfway House operates on the main campus and provides group activities and therapy for clients from diverse backgrounds. The Family Way option is tailored for women with young children and extends support for up to two years, helping them balance family responsibilities and career goals. Additionally, CADAS collaborates with the Chattanooga Housing Authority to offer low-cost housing opportunities for clients in the early phases of their recovery.
