Cumberland Heights Hermitage

Cumberland Heights is an outpatient treatment center focusing on the 12-step approach for adults dealing with alcohol and substance use disorders. With 15 outpatient locations throughout Tennessee, along with two immersive 12-step retreats and a residential program, the center has been serving the community since its establishment in 1966. As a non-profit entity, Cumberland Heights is committed to delivering customized care tailored to each individual's specific requirements. Utilizing evidence-based methods to enhance treatment efficacy, Cumberland Heights emphasizes techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and 12-step facilitation. The center also includes experiential therapies to create a comprehensive treatment experience, featuring adventure therapy, art therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness and meditation, spiritual care, and yoga. In addition, telehealth options are available for increased accessibility. Cumberland Heights holds the distinction of being the first center in Tennessee accredited by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is recognized nationally for its excellence in addiction recovery support. It has also received accreditation from the Joint Commission. The facility works with most major insurance providers and offers reasonable self-pay options to enhance accessibility to care. The Hermitage site provides intensive outpatient treatment sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to noon and 6 to 9 PM, along with an alumni aftercare group on Mondays from 6 to 9 PM. The family program takes place Thursdays from 9 AM to noon and Friday evenings from 6 to 9 PM.

The center specializes in addressing substance use disorders alongside concurrent mental health issues. Each individual's treatment strategy focuses on both conditions simultaneously, providing tailored and empathetic care to ensure thorough recovery.
