Cumberland Heights offers a comprehensive outpatient treatment program rooted in the 12-step philosophy, specifically designed for adults facing challenges with alcohol and substance use. With a total of 15 outpatient locations throughout Tennessee, the center also features two immersive 12-step retreats and a residential treatment option. Established in 1966, Cumberland Heights operates as a non-profit entity committed to delivering individualized care, tailoring treatment plans to meet the distinct needs of each client. The center incorporates evidence-based methodologies for optimal results, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and 12-step support. Furthermore, a variety of experiential therapies are offered for a holistic approach, such as adventure therapy, art therapy, music therapy, recreational activities, mindfulness practices, spiritual guidance, and yoga. Telehealth options are also provided for added convenience. Cumberland Heights holds the distinction of being the first treatment facility in Tennessee to achieve certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is recognized nationally as a leader in the field of addiction recovery. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and works with most major insurance providers, offering competitive self-pay options to enhance accessibility to care. The Memphis facility operates intensive outpatient programs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m.
