The center operates 15 outpatient locations throughout Tennessee, along with two immersive 12-step retreats and a residential treatment option. Established in 1966, Cumberland Heights is a non-profit organization committed to delivering individualized care that caters to the specific needs of each client.
The center utilizes a range of evidence-based approaches to enhance treatment effectiveness, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and facilitation of 12-step programs. Additionally, they offer various experiential therapies, such as adventure therapy, art therapy, relapse prevention strategies, music therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness practices, spiritual care, and yoga. Telehealth services are also part of their offerings.
Cumberland Heights holds the distinction of being the first treatment facility in Tennessee certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), establishing itself as a prominent authority in addiction treatment nationwide. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and participates in most major insurance networks while providing competitive rates for self-pay clients, fostering greater accessibility to their services. They offer adult intensive outpatient (IOP) sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during various time slots throughout the day. Their family program runs on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Al-Anon gatherings are available for all attendees on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Situated in Nashville's Music Row district, this facility features a music-centered aftercare program in collaboration with MusiCares on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
