Cumberland Heights offers an outpatient treatment program centered around the 12-step approach, designed for adults facing challenges with alcohol and substance use. The center operates 15 outpatient facilities throughout Tennessee, alongside two immersive retreats and a residential program. Established in 1966, Cumberland Heights is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering individualized care that addresses the specific requirements of each client. Utilizing evidence-based methodologies, Cumberland Heights aims to enhance treatment efficacy through techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and the facilitation of 12-step programs. Additionally, they offer a broad spectrum of experiential therapies, including adventure therapy, art therapy, relapse prevention, music therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness and meditation, spiritual guidance, and yoga. The center also provides telehealth options for clients. Cumberland Heights holds the distinction of being the first treatment facility in Tennessee to achieve certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), earning recognition as a prominent leader in the domain of addiction recovery. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and works with most major insurance providers while offering competitive self-pay rates to enhance accessibility of care. Their location in Sumner County offers adult intensive outpatient (IOP) sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 to 9 p.m. Family programs are available on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, with 12-step meetings held daily.
