Evolve Teen Treatment Center - Calabasas

Evolve specializes in providing tailored rehabilitation services for adolescents facing issues related to addiction, serious mental health challenges, and co-occurring disorders. Located in Calabasas, the center caters to teenagers aged 12-17 and offers comprehensive support for their families. With a focus on individualized care, each of their residential facilities accommodates only six teenagers at a time, ensuring a more customized therapeutic environment. The center is staffed with full-time onsite psychiatrists who offer continuous support around the clock. At Evolve, each adolescent is assigned a personal treatment plan crafted to meet their specific needs. The dedicated team consists of psychiatrists, a clinical program director, therapists, counselors, facility managers, and recovery coaches. The clinical staff receive specialized training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and implement a structured 4-part DBT program aimed at helping teens comprehend their motivations, improve relationships, and develop practical skills for handling intense emotions. Among the evidence-based therapeutic approaches utilized are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Mindfulness practices available at Evolve include mindful walking, cooking, yoga, and meditation. Additionally, a variety of experiential therapies are offered, such as equine-assisted activities, hiking, surf therapy, art therapy, psychodrama, and social outings. Evolve addresses both substance use disorders and diverse mental health issues, including acute crises like suicidal tendencies and self-harming behaviors. Other conditions treated comprise depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, psychotic disorders, disordered eating, and gender dysphoria. Each teen participates in weekly psychiatry appointments, three individual therapy sessions, two family therapy sessions, at least 15 clinical groups, as well as several experiential therapy sessions weekly. To support parents, Evolve organizes a weekly virtual support group for the families of current clients and alumni. Evolve is committed to helping teens maintain their educational engagement during their treatment. The center works closely with educators and allocates daily time for academic pursuits. Equipped with dedicated spaces for learning that include computers, desks, and educational materials, Evolve ensures that teens can continue their studies. The center provides a complete range of care, including day treatment (or partial hospitalization) and after-school intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) at their outpatient facilities. Virtual outpatient care options are also available for teens.
