Free by the Sea specializes in treating addiction alongside co-occurring mental health disorders, employing a personalized and research-based method. The center offers a comprehensive range of services, including residential care, day treatment (partial hospitalization), intensive outpatient programs, general outpatient care, and aftercare support. It serves individuals of all ages—men, women, young adults, and seniors—who are facing addiction and related mental health issues. Clients benefit from a variety of evidence-based and holistic therapeutic options delivered in individual, group, and family environments. Upon admission, Free by the Sea conducts an initial assessment to evaluate clients’ medical histories and specific challenges related to addiction, as well as any co-existing mental health issues. Customized treatment plans are developed to align with each client's particular needs and objectives. The center is staffed by a team of professionals, including a psychiatrist, medical doctor, licensed mental health counselors, addiction specialists, substance use disorder professionals, and a life coach who also offers yoga and sound healing. The therapeutic modalities employed at Free by the Sea target root issues related to addiction, such as depression and anxiety, using evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, and contingency management among others. Family members are encouraged to participate in monthly family weekends for counseling and educational sessions on addiction. Additionally, clients can engage in holistic activities including yoga, sound therapy, exercise, and leisure activities such as swimming, outdoor meetings, and barbecues on the beach. The center provides multiple levels of care, spanning residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient, general outpatient, and aftercare. In residential treatment, clients reside on-site, receiving healthy meals, round-the-clock support, and peer connection. Day treatment allows clients to live at home or in sober living, attending therapy sessions 5 days a week for 5 to 8 hours each day. In the intensive outpatient program, clients attend treatment sessions 3 times a week for 3 to 4 hours each day. Nestled on a picturesque 5-acre campus just steps from the beach, Free by the Sea creates a serene atmosphere conducive to recovery and healing.
