About
Harmony Wheeling offers outpatient services tailored for children, teens, adults, and couples confronting mental health and substance use challenges, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains. The center operates Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The therapeutic approaches at Harmony incorporate a blend of evidence-based practices, medical interventions, and clinical therapies. Their offerings include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family and systems therapy, humanistic approaches, interpersonal therapy (IPT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), alongside NeuroStar transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), psychodynamic therapy, Spravato for depression, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, and comprehensive medication management.
Harmony accommodates both individual clients and couples, accepting direct admissions as well as referrals. Their couples therapy emphasizes open communication of emotions and collaborative problem-solving.
The center's Recovery-based Outpatient Opioid Treatment Services (R.O.O.T.S.) employs MAT strategies to assist clients in understanding the effects of addiction, primarily using buprenorphine (Suboxone). In specific cases, they may also utilize naltrexone (Vivitrol) or alternative medications.
Beyond this central location near I-70 and the Ohio Border, Harmony operates four additional locations in West Virginia, providing similar outpatient services and virtual therapy options. They are part of the broader Transformation Care Network, which delivers outpatient treatment across the East Coast and in the Seattle region.
