About
Hope is Alive (HIA) Ministries employs a faith-based methodology for addressing substance use disorders. The initiative was inspired by the personal journey of founder Lance Lang, who overcame addiction, and his wife Ally, who supported him throughout this process. HIA views addiction as a medical condition, emphasizing the significance of prayer and community in the recovery journey. They believe in the possibility of healing for all family members, the necessity of substituting harmful habits with constructive ones, and that expressing emotions is integral to recovery, all while fostering a sense of hope.
HIA's sober living initiative targets the healing of underlying issues associated with substance use, prompting profound life transformations. Their gender-specific residences typically feature shared accommodations, fresh bedding, dressers, lamps, and designated kitchen areas. Essential items to bring include a Bible, food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing hangers, laundry supplies, towels, and a month’s supply of clothing.
In addition to providing housing, HIA curates an engaging program schedule. Residents are required to join a local 12-Step group, secure nearby full-time employment, and can partake in optional activities such as ski trips and retreats. Regular participation in monthly mentor meetings, local church services, Sunday evening gatherings, Monday night Bible study, and Wednesday group meetings is encouraged, all held at 6:30 p.m. Each program is tailored to meet individual needs, and assistance with legal matters is available if required. Residents also have the opportunity to engage in community service once a month. The program length is 12 to 18 months, with the majority of participants opting for the full 18-month duration. Located in Texas, this program is exclusively for men and comes with a monthly fee of $750, with random drug screenings to maintain sobriety.
Although based in Oklahoma City, Hope is Alive has a broad influence across the nation through its sober living arrangements, family therapy services, and various retreats. They collaborate with churches, schools, and corporate entities, and have showcased endorsements by Craig Groeschel on their YouTube channel. Such partnerships also include work with figures like Tim Tebow, Brandon Lake, and Ben Fuller in their retreat initiatives. Information regarding their ongoing and special programs can be found in their RADICAL magazine and blog.
Hope is Alive also provides complimentary family support through the Finding Hope initiative, which underscores committed love, support, and prayer among participants. They conduct meetings bi-monthly lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Additionally, their Hope After Loss program aims to assist individuals coping with the loss of loved ones due to addiction.

Providers Policy
At Hope is Alive Recovery Homes - Texas, we understand that navigating the financial aspects of rehabilitation can be challenging. Our program is designed to provide a comprehensive, Christ-centered approach to recovery, emphasizing support and community.
Our sober living program is available for a monthly fee of $750. This fee includes accommodation in our gender-specific houses, access to our structured activities, mentoring, and a robust support network focused on fostering lasting recovery. We recommend that residents prepare for their stay by bringing essential personal items, and we are committed to providing an environment conducive to healing.
While we do not accept insurance directly or through managed care organizations, we encourage potential residents and their families to explore alternative funding options. Many clients successfully work with their insurance providers to discuss coverage for outpatient services or related treatment. Additionally, we believe that financial considerations should not deter anyone from seeking the help they need; therefore, we are open to discussing flexible payment arrangements for those who demonstrate financial need.
For families, our Finding Hope program offers free supportive services to assist in navigating the challenges of addiction. We also recommend that families consult with financial advisors or local organizations for additional resources related to substance use treatment support.
For any inquiries about payment options or to discuss how we can help you or your loved one on this recovery journey, please reach out to our team. Together, we can find a way to ensure that the path to healing remains accessible to all who seek it.
