About
Hope is Alive (HIA) Ministries adopts a Christ-centered methodology for tackling substance use challenges. The organization was inspired by the recovery journey of founder Lance Lang and the support provided by his wife and co-founder Ally during this process. HIA views addiction as a disease and emphasizes the significance of prayer, community support, and the possibility of recovery for the entire family. They underscore the necessity of substituting harmful habits with positive ones, recognizing that emotional experiences are integral to healing, and asserting that hope still exists. In Kansas, HIA offers sober living facilities located in Wichita, Overland Park, and Kansas City, Kansas (men's only), as well as a women’s residence in Kansas City, Missouri.
The sober living initiative at HIA is dedicated to addressing the underlying issues that contribute to alcohol and drug dependence, aiming to inspire profound life transformations. Their gender-specific residences typically feature shared sleeping spaces, fresh bedding, dressers, nightstands, lamps, and kitchen provisions. Residents are encouraged to bring a Bible, food and non-alcoholic beverages, hangers for clothing, laundry soap, towels, personal bathroom essentials, and enough clothing for a month.
In addition to housing, HIA promotes an engaging agenda. Residents must participate in a local 12-Step program, secure full-time employment in the vicinity, and have the opportunity to partake in optional recreational trips such as ski outings and retreats. Regular involvement includes attending monthly mentor meetings on-site, a local church service, a Sunday evening gathering, a Monday night Bible study, and a Wednesday group session, all scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time. The program is tailored to the individual needs of the participants and offers assistance with legal matters when required. Residents also engage in community service volunteering once a month. The program duration ranges from 12 to 18 months, with most individuals completing the full 18 months. The financial commitment is $750 for the initial month, followed by a rate of $650 for each subsequent month. To help maintain sobriety, Hope is Alive conducts random drug screenings.
Located in Oklahoma City, Hope is Alive extends its services across the nation via sober living and family therapy programs, retreats, and partnerships with churches, corporations, and schools. They showcase endorsements from Craig Groeschel on their YouTube channel and have collaborated with industry figures like Groeschel, Tim Tebow, Brandon Lake, and Ben Fuller for their retreat initiatives. Regular updates regarding programming and special events are shared through their RADICAL magazine and blog posts.
Furthermore, Hope is Alive provides complimentary family support through their Finding Hope initiative, which focuses on fostering intentional love, support, and prayer among participants. They convene twice a month for meetings lasting between 60 to 90 minutes. Their Hope After Loss counseling service is dedicated to individuals grappling with the loss of a loved one due to addiction.

Providers Policy
At Hope is Alive Recovery Homes - Kansas, we understand that the financial aspects of recovery can be a significant concern for individuals and families seeking treatment. While our primary focus is on providing a Christ-centered approach to substance use treatment, we also strive to ensure that our services are accessible to those in need.
Currently, we operate on a self-pay model for our sober living program, which includes a flat fee of $750 for the first month and $650 for each subsequent month. Although we do not directly accept insurance, we encourage individuals to reach out to their insurance providers to explore potential reimbursement options for out-of-pocket expenses related to our services.
To support our residents further, Hope is Alive also offers scholarships and financial assistance on a case-by-case basis. We are committed to helping families navigate their financial responsibilities as they embark on the journey of recovery.
If you have any questions regarding payment options or would like to discuss financial assistance, please feel free to contact our admissions team. We are here to support you and your family in finding hope and healing in the recovery process.
