Kansas City Recovery

Kansas City Recovery (KCR), established by Angela Pugh, emerged from her personal battle with alcoholism. After achieving sobriety, she dedicated her life to assisting others on their paths to recovery. Pugh has since acquired numerous qualifications in substance abuse recovery, addiction counseling, social work, and psychology. At KCR, residents uplift each other while cultivating essential life skills in a supportive recovery-focused environment. Participants must adhere to house rules, attend weekly group meetings, and assist with household responsibilities. They are also required to maintain full-time employment, be enrolled as a student, or actively engage in an intensive outpatient program during their stay. Eligible individuals must be adult males aged 18 and over, currently sober for at least 30 days, and agree to random urine and/or breath tests. Individuals coming from another treatment program may qualify with 21-28 days of sobriety. KCR additionally provides intervention and recovery coaching services. The intervention process generally spans 4-7 days and costs between $3000 and $6000, which is not covered by insurance. Recovery coaching typically begins with weekly sessions for the initial 4-6 weeks, transitioning to bi-monthly sessions for ongoing support and accountability. Each coaching session lasts about 60-75 minutes. It's important to note that a recovery coach does not function as an AA sponsor and does not guide individuals through the 12-Step program.

The rehabilitation center focuses on addressing substance use disorders by assisting individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them with caring support networks.

While KCR is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support for our residents, it is important to note that certain services offered may not be covered by insurance. Our primary residential program encourages personal growth and recovery, but it does not include insurance reimbursement options. To participate, individuals must meet eligibility criteria, including being clean and sober for a minimum of 30 days. This program offers a supportive environment where residents engage in life skills development and peer support. For our intervention services, costs typically range from $3,000 to $6,000. Please be advised that insurance does not cover these interventions. Recovery coaching sessions, which provide valuable guidance and accountability, are also available. These sessions usually begin at once per week and can transition to twice monthly as individuals progress. Each session is priced individually and is not covered by insurance.
