Magnolia Creek is a residential treatment facility exclusively for women, focusing on the recovery of women and adolescent girls dealing with disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive exercise disorder, pica, muscle dysmorphia, and purging disorder, as well as concurrent health issues. The center provides a comprehensive range of care with personalized treatment plans designed for each client. Their approach combines research-backed techniques with holistic methods. The duration of the residential program is typically 30 days. Throughout their stay, clients engage in individual sessions, group therapy, and various experiential and recreational activities. Therapy modalities offered may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing (MI), and family counseling. Clients also have the chance to take part in experiential therapies such as animal-assisted therapy, wilderness therapy, art therapy, sand-tray therapy, music therapy, and adventure therapy. Following the residential phase, clients transition to a Day Treatment or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), allowing them to live at home while still participating in daily therapeutic activities and meal preparation in the evenings. Magnolia Creek additionally hosts a three-day intensive family program monthly and provides ongoing aftercare support.
Nestled in a serene and picturesque area in Columbiana, Alabama, roughly an hour southeast of Birmingham, Magnolia Creek is set on a lovely 40-acre property featuring a large private lake. The colonial-style house accommodates up to 14 residents, offering cozy lodging, a fireplace in the living room, and a wraparound porch ideal for relaxation. Residents receive three meals each day, expertly prepared by an in-house chef. They can also enjoy strolls around the scenic grounds, yoga sessions, and horseback riding. Magnolia Creek is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance plans.
