Nexus Recovery Center

Situated in Dallas, Texas, Nexus Recovery Center offers residential programs for those struggling with substance use disorders, including both drug and alcohol addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health issues. Clients are permitted to bring their cigarettes to the facility. The treatment approach commences with a medical detox period lasting between 5 to 7 days, followed by continued care for as long as necessary. The center implements evidence-based methodologies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication-assisted treatments, including the use of naloxone (Narcan). Clients also have access to Nexus-provided cell phones for family communication. The program includes both individual and group therapy sessions, tailored to connect participants with others who have had similar experiences, such as issues related to parenting or shared traumatic events. Upon completing their residential treatment and securing stable housing, clients receive a discharge plan that may involve intensive outpatient (IOP) services provided at Nexus. To support the recovery process, the facility features a tranquility garden, and staff coordinate family-friendly outings to destinations like the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Arboretum, White Rock Lake, indoor skydiving adventures, and coffee shop visits. Renovations are currently underway on the campus. Nexus Recovery Center caters to adult women, irrespective of their parental status, alongside adolescents aged 13-17 who are either pregnant or parenting. Mothers can bring along up to three children aged 0-12, and delivery services for babies are offered on-site. Pregnant clients and new mothers receive essential parenting education and postpartum assistance. The center accepts various insurance plans, including Medicaid, BlueCross Blue Shield of Texas, Carelon, Cenpatico, Children's Community Health Plan, Cigna, CompCare, Magellan Behavioral Health, Molina Healthcare, Parkland Community Health Plan, Scott & White Health Plan, Texas Bluebonnet, Texas True Choice, and Wellpoint. As a non-profit organization, Nexus also accommodates clients lacking insurance. Nexus Recovery Center provides access to peer specialists for support and guidance, many of whom are former clients. They also welcome individuals returning for additional support.
