The Prairieview campus of Northwest Passage, nestled in the scenic lakes and forests of Northwest Wisconsin, is a residential rehabilitation center tailored specifically for adolescent females and gender-diverse youth aged 12 to 17. This facility spans 25 acres of picturesque prairie land in Frederic, Wisconsin, and is equipped with a cafeteria, dedicated treatment personnel, classrooms, and recreational areas. It boasts an on-site wellness center that includes a gym, fitness area, classrooms, and an outdoor educational space. The expansive grounds are designed for experiential learning, featuring gardens, a greenhouse, a hammock village, nature trails, an orchard, a playground, and a fire pit. The program is centered on fostering resilience by encouraging a therapeutic lifestyle grounded in their guiding philosophy, The PassageWay. This method assists each young person in improving emotional regulation, cultivating healthy coping mechanisms, nurturing positive relationships, and forming community ties. Offered services include hands-on learning, cutting-edge mental health therapies, and secure relationship-building experiences. Treatment plans incorporate evidence-based approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), SMART skills, and Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC)-informed strategies. Activities such as hiking, canoeing, volunteering, nature photography, and equine therapy are part of the holistic healing process. Prairieview accommodates youth from a wide array of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences, emphasizing its dedication to nurturing an inclusive atmosphere where every individual feels accepted and valued. The center features 24 beds across three units presented in a comfortable dormitory-style arrangement, with typical stays lasting between 6 to 10 months and a staff-to-client ratio of at least 1:4. A multidimensional team partners with young people and their families to help them envision themselves positively, fostering resilience, determination, teamwork, and a robust work ethic throughout the healing journey.
