About
Located on a spacious 14-acre site adjacent to the Elmwood Shopping Center, River Oaks Hospital provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services designed to meet various mental health and substance abuse needs. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most major private insurance plans, as well as Tricare, V.A. Benefits, Medicare, and Medicaid.
The Adolescent Psychiatric Program caters to youth aged 12 to 17, offering inpatient mental health care that emphasizes crisis intervention and personal growth. Treatment options include individual, group, and family counseling, medication management, and discharge planning. To enhance recovery, art, music, and play therapies are incorporated along with educational sessions focused on social skills, problem-solving, and anger management. Adolescents are able to continue their academic studies while receiving treatment.
As part of the Patriot Support Program, River Oaks provides customized care for active-duty service members, addressing issues such as combat-related trauma, stress, grief, and challenges related to reintegration. Treatment modalities include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), trauma education, and 12-Step support for substance use issues.
For adults, both inpatient and outpatient services combine medication management with individual, group, and family therapy, supplemented by educational activities, art, and music therapies. Clients dealing with substance use can engage in 12-Step programs, addiction education, and strategies for preventing relapse. Referring professionals receive regular updates, and discharge planning is in place to facilitate ongoing care.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) runs from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday, while Day Treatment services are available from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the same days.
