About
Established in 2011, Thalia House serves as a transitional living facility designed for women who are beginning their recovery journey from eating disorders alongside co-existing mental health challenges. The center offers 24/7 assistance, training in essential life skills, strategies for preventing relapse, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) tailored for both adolescents and adults. Thalia House emphasizes a comprehensive approach that nurtures emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational health. Their method blends holistic practices with evidence-based therapies, promoting self-acceptance, empowerment, and independence among clients. Typically, residents at Thalia House stay for a minimum of 30 days, with many extending their time to as much as three months. Throughout this period, residents are encouraged to establish both short-term and long-term ambitions while engaging in part-time work, educational pursuits, or volunteer opportunities.
Services offered at Thalia House include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), individual and couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Additional modalities available encompass pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, sex therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), nutrition counseling, relational therapy, and support groups specifically for issues related to eating disorders.
Thalia House is set in a picturesque country home designed to accommodate up to seven clients, featuring three shared bedrooms and three shared bathrooms. The facility boasts a welcoming living room and a patio jacuzzi. A designated house mother is present around the clock to ensure care and supervision. As a gender-specific home, Thalia House exclusively offers programs for women, while the evening IOP sessions at Resonate remain accessible to both male and female adolescents and adults.
