Threshold Recovery is a sober living facility grounded in the 12-Step program that aids individuals transitioning from treatment back into everyday life. Situated in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the center manages seven sober living homes in the vicinity. Among these, there are two homes designated for specific genders—one for men and another for women. The center was established out of a deep commitment to support those grappling with addiction, inspired by the owner's personal experience with loss due to a fatal overdose. Its core mission is to provide a safe, abstinence-focused living environment for both men and women on their recovery journey. Threshold Recovery collaborates with the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences and the National Sober Living Association (NSLA) to enhance their services. The weekly cost for residency typically ranges from $175 to $200, with a maximum of around $800 for a month. Residents enjoy access to communal areas and kitchens, which include designated refrigerator space. Upon arrival, new residents share a room with two to three others but may request a private room after demonstrating self-accountability. After completing the first step in 30 days, residents can ask to go home with 48 hours' notice. Active participation in recovery is mandatory, with at least five documented engagements per week, such as therapy sessions, 12-step meetings, church attendance, sponsorship meetings, volunteering, and gym workouts. Threshold Recovery also assists residents in securing employment, with hourly wages averaging between $12 and $17. The center's seven sober living homes are each distinct yet share common features such as shared bedrooms and bathrooms.
