Wyoming Behavioral Institute

The Wyoming Behavioral Institute (WBI), situated in Casper, Wyoming, is an acute psychiatric facility with 81 beds, delivering extensive mental health care for individuals starting from age 5 to seniors. The center addresses various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, self-injury, and dual diagnosis with substance use disorders. WBI presents a full spectrum of care, encompassing inpatient treatment, trauma-informed residential programs for girls aged 10 to 17, and outpatient services. Treatment modalities provided include both individual and group therapy sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), medication management, creative art therapy, and family counseling. Additionally, WBI offers specialized interventions like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for those with treatment-resistant depression and the SMART Recovery initiative for substance-related issues, reflecting WBI's dedication to utilizing innovative, research-backed treatment methods. To enhance accessibility, WBI has implemented a telehealth intensive outpatient program for adolescents between 14 and 17 years old, which helps young people facing mental and behavioral challenges by offering structured therapy that fits into their everyday lives, thereby removing travel requirements.
