YSS Ember Recovery Campus

YSS offers a comprehensive array of services designed to assist young individuals and their families within Iowa, providing customized support at each of their locations. The Ember Recovery Campus, which has a capacity of 70 beds, serves youth aged 12 to 18 and young adults aged 18 to 24 facing substance use challenges, guided by a founder who has experienced long-term recovery. Nestled on a tranquil 50-acre site, the campus fosters a serene environment conducive to reflection, rehabilitation, and personal development. This facility delivers individualized, gender-sensitive treatment in a secluded and calming atmosphere. The therapists tailor evidence-based approaches specific to each client, facilitating trust, nurturing healthy coping mechanisms, and addressing the underlying issues related to addiction. Commonly employed methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, multidimensional family therapy (MDFT), systems training for emotional predictability and problem solving (STEPPS), as well as group therapy sessions. Beyond therapy, the Ember Recovery Campus incorporates the natural surroundings into the healing process. It features walking paths for immersing in nature, along with indoor facilities such as a recreation area and a fitness center. While receiving treatment, youth at Ember have the opportunity to continue their education. Staff members provide tutoring support to help students remain on track academically, including assistance with SAT and ACT preparation. Additionally, they work with teens to establish supportive networks for life beyond treatment, ensuring family involvement and thorough aftercare planning.
