About
Situated in Estacada, adjacent to the Mount Hood National Forest, the Adult and Teen Challenge Portland Metro Men’s Campus provides a faith-based rehabilitation program specifically designed for men struggling with substance abuse issues. Established by David Wilkerson in the 1960s, this initiative has expanded to nearly 250 centers across the United States and over 1,000 locations in 95 different countries. Participants at the Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge pay an initial fee of $500 at admission, with no additional charges for the duration of the program. The Portland Metro Men’s Campus offers a comprehensive one-year program, accommodating up to 40 men, situated approximately 30 minutes southeast of downtown Portland.
The curriculum employed by Adult and Teen Challenge is anchored in biblical teachings and aims to achieve three key objectives: healing from the devastation caused by substance abuse, fostering reconciliation with Jesus Christ and community members, and facilitating personal transformation through the teachings of Christ. During their time in the program, participants engage in sermons, Bible studies, prayer, spiritual retreats, and vocational training. The Life Renewal clinical counseling component integrates behavioral health approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and strategies for preventing relapse, all rooted in Christian principles. Notably, the program does not offer medical personnel, so individuals are required to be detoxed before enrollment. To enhance focus on recovery, communication is restricted to immediate family, and personal electronic devices are prohibited. In pursuit of total recovery from substance use, smoking is also not permitted on the premises.
Treatment Focus
The focus of this center is on addressing substance use disorders, assisting individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and providing access to empathetic support services.

Providers Policy
At Adult and Teen Challenge Portland Men's Campus, we are committed to providing a transformative and Christ-centered recovery experience for men facing substance use concerns. Our program, designed to facilitate holistic healing and spiritual growth, charges a one-time intake fee of $500. This fee covers the entire duration of our one-year program, allowing participants to focus entirely on their recovery journey without ongoing monthly costs.
While we do not bill insurance providers directly, we encourage individuals to explore their insurance options to see if any reimbursement or support may be available for their participation in our program. It is important to note that Adult and Teen Challenge does not employ medical staff, and participants must complete detox prior to admission.
To maintain an environment conducive to recovery, contact with anyone outside of immediate family and the use of electronic devices are restricted throughout the program duration. Furthermore, to promote overall wellness and focus on recovery, smoking is prohibited on the premises.
We invite individuals seeking help to reach out to inquire about the admission process or to discuss any financial questions related to our program. Our primary goal is to support men on their path to recovery and renewal through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.
