About
Situated on a 17-acre site just outside Shedd, the Adult and Teen Challenge Willamette Valley Men’s Campus provides a Christ-centered approach to treating men dealing with substance abuse issues. Established by David Wilkerson in 1960, this organization has grown to encompass nearly 250 centers across the United States and over 1,000 in 95 countries worldwide. In the Pacific Northwest, the Adult and Teen Challenge programs require an initial fee of $500 upon entry, with no additional monthly expenses during the rest of the program. The Willamette Valley Men’s Campus operates a year-long program that accommodates up to 48 men. Conveniently located near Highway 99E, just 8 miles south of Albany, it serves individuals from the Willamette Valley and neighboring areas.
The curriculum at Adult and Teen Challenge is Bible-based and emphasizes three core objectives: healing from the effects of substance use, fostering reconciliation with Jesus Christ and others, and encouraging transformational growth grounded in faith. Participants engage in sermons, Bible studies, prayer sessions, spiritual retreats, and vocational training associated with Adult and Teen Challenge thrift shops. Life Renewal clinical counseling provides behavioral health support, incorporating CBT, DBT, and relapse prevention techniques rooted in Christian values. It is important to note that Adult and Teen Challenge does not have medical personnel, meaning participants must complete detox before joining the program. To promote a strong focus on recovery, communication is restricted to immediate family members, and electronic devices are prohibited. In line with the commitment to helping individuals recover from substance use, smoking is not permitted on the premises.
Treatment Focus
The focus of this center is on addressing substance use disorders, assisting individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them to empathetic support systems.

Providers Policy
At Adult and Teen Challenge Willamette Valley, we understand that the financial aspect of treatment can be a concern for many individuals and families seeking help. Our program is designed to be accessible, with a total fee of $500 charged at the time of intake. This fee covers the entirety of the one-year program, and there are no additional monthly costs during your stay.
Currently, we do not accept insurance as a form of payment. We believe in creating an environment that prioritizes recovery and spiritual growth, allowing participants to focus wholly on their treatment without the added pressures of ongoing financial obligations.
To facilitate the recovery process, we encourage potential participants to prepare for the upfront fee while recognizing that our structured program provides valuable support and resources. As we do not provide medical staff on-site, it is essential that all individuals complete detoxification prior to admission.
Our mission is to provide men in the Willamette Valley and surrounding region with comprehensive, faith-centered support in their journey toward transformation and reconciliation. For further inquiries regarding payment options or program details, please contact our admissions team directly. We are here to guide you through the process and help you take the crucial steps towards a healthier future.
