About
Advanced Health and Education provides various outpatient treatment options for substance use, alongside a primary outpatient mental health program, a support group specifically for LGBTQ+ individuals, and a strong network for alumni. Their offerings include both established therapeutic methods and alternative practices such as acupuncture and chiropractic support.
The Partial Care program at AHE consists of 5 hours of daily treatment, 6 days a week, for a period of up to 45 days. Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) takes place 3 days a week with sessions lasting 3 hours each, extending for a maximum of 16 weeks. In outpatient therapy, clients may attend up to 2 sessions weekly, each lasting no longer than 2 hours, based on the recommendations of their case manager. All programs at AHE adopt a comprehensive approach, covering topics like family dynamics, healthcare, job skills, and legal matters, in addition to personal and group therapy.
AHE's mental health program operates 6 days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with most clients participating for 30 to 45 days. This program is designed to support sustainable management of mental health issues while teaching practical life skills. Participants learn skills such as effective communication, anger and stress management, mindfulness, and coping with emotions as well as grief.
Alternative healing practices, including acupuncture, chiropractic, yoga, guided meditation, aromatherapy, somatic therapies, eastern philosophies, and mindfulness strategies, are integrated into AHE’s programs to enhance comfort during treatment and promote a better connection with the self.
The Perspectives program was established by AHE to foster a supportive community for LGBTQ+ clients. This weekly gathering provides a safe environment for members to discuss shared experiences, navigate challenges with guidance from a group leader, and support each other.
Former participants of AHE’s Partial Care, IOP, and outpatient programs are encouraged to engage with the alumni community, where they can share their successes and challenges within a diverse network. The alumni association offers monthly meet-ups, seasonal gatherings, and ongoing support.
