AMFM Mental Health Treatment is a unique residential facility that focuses on gender-specific mental health care, accommodating up to 8 clients at a time. Situated in Virginia, the center fosters a warm and supportive atmosphere, providing individualized care available around the clock. AMFM takes a holistic approach to wellness, recognizing that recovery involves more than just traditional therapy and medication. Each aspect of the program is thoughtfully designed, combining evidence-based therapies with nurturing therapeutic relationships and delicious, health-conscious meals, all delivered with genuine care and meticulous attention to detail. To better understand each client, AMFM conducts thorough assessments that explore their symptoms, history, and strengths. This insight allows the team to create personalized treatment plans that address individual needs. The center treats both primary and co-occurring conditions. Offering 60 hours of clinical programming weekly, AMFM includes medication management, numerous individual therapy sessions, family therapy sessions, and case management in its comprehensive schedule. Their compassionate, evidence-backed approach focuses on tackling the underlying issues related to mental health, supported by medication when needed. Licensed professionals use techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), among others. Notably, they also provide transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Clients meet weekly with a psychiatric provider along with two individual therapy sessions each week with a counselor, and mindfulness practices are integrated throughout to enhance treatment effectiveness. Life skills training and psychoeducation are also key components of their program. The AMFM residential facility in Fairfax Station offers a peaceful, homelike setting with both private and shared rooms, comfortable communal areas, specialized therapy rooms, and a scenic backyard featuring a calming porch. Embracing a comprehensive approach to recovery, the center presents a wide variety of therapeutic options, such as somatic experiencing, equine therapy, creative writing, pet therapy, psychodrama, art therapy, yoga, and expressive arts therapy. After residential care, AMFM provides extensive aftercare services, including group therapy, family follow-up counseling, professional re-entry support, and engaging alumni events, ensuring a continuous and supportive care experience.
