Another Way, Inc. is a certified halfway house for men, offering a 5-6 month residential program tailored for adults aged 21 and older who are in recovery from substance use disorders and concurrent mental health issues. This program is designed to assist individuals with a background of substance abuse, which may include substances like alcohol, heroin, and methamphetamine. It aims to help men reconstruct their lives through a structured environment that fosters independence and daily support within a safe, recovery-oriented atmosphere. The treatment plan follows a three-phase model, incorporating the 12 Steps, comprehensive counseling, and life skills training. Participants engage in both evidence-based and holistic approaches, such as relapse prevention strategies, pet therapy, music and art activities, horticultural therapy, ropes course experiences, and care that is sensitive to trauma. A psychiatrist is available to assist residents with medication management for dual diagnoses, while group sessions and peer interactions promote accountability and foster connections among participants. Residents live in a communal setting that features supervision, shared accommodations, daily responsibilities, and established routines that enhance a sense of accountability. Meals are taken in a communal fashion, with residents participating in their preparation. Available amenities include a gym, a garden, a pond for relaxation, recreational options, and organized trips to local parks and recovery-focused events. Transportation is arranged for attendees to access meetings, appointments, and job-seeking assistance, encouraging practical skills and engagement within the community.
