About
Aster Springs, located in Manakin-Sabot, specializes in addressing eating disorders through a range of programs, including residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) services. The residential program is designed specifically for women aged 18 and above, while the outpatient options are available for all adults, including transitional living arrangements. Each client collaborates with licensed professionals to create a customized recovery plan that meets their specific needs.
Aster Springs addresses various eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), binge eating disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, muscle dysmorphia, and other specified feeding or eating disorders (OSFED).
The residential program at Aster Springs provides focused care for adult women dealing with disordered eating in a supportive, structured, home-like environment. Clients benefit from a dedicated team of highly qualified therapists and nutritionists. This program follows a holistic approach with a low patient-to-staff ratio, facilitating multi-faceted treatment that includes individual, group, experiential, and expressive therapies. Their continuum of care ensures that patients have access to appropriate aftercare services, including outpatient and transitional living, once they finish their residential stay.
In addition to residential services, Aster Springs offers PHP and IOP for adult men and women. The PHP involves 6 hours of daily treatment, 5 days a week, with clients able to stay in one of the nearby housing options provided by the center. The IOP offers treatment for 3 hours per day on 3 to 5 days a week, with flexibility for both daytime and evening sessions. Participants in outpatient programs engage in individual, group, and family therapy while learning to prepare meals and apply their skills under professional guidance.
The expert therapists and staff employ a combination of holistic and evidence-based practices tailored to the individual's treatment plan. Methods utilized may include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), nutritional counseling, and yoga. Set on a serene 20-acre campus with luxurious amenities, Aster Springs provides a peaceful environment that fosters healing.
