Founded in 1986, Chrysalis House stands out as one of the few residential rehabilitation facilities in Maryland that accommodates women with their children during their treatment, thus eliminating a significant hurdle to accessing care. The program is designed for both mothers and women without children, offering free services for clients who possess Medicaid insurance. Prospective residents must complete a detoxification process and be free from substances for a minimum of five days before they can be admitted. The residential initiative is accredited at ASAM Level 3.3 and offers round-the-clock clinical supervision. Every participant receives a personalized care strategy, which may encompass medication-assisted treatment (MAT), education on substance use disorders, relapse prevention workshops, family therapy, and access to on-site 12-Step meetings. Further aid includes life skills development, parenting instruction, case management services, transportation help, and on-site facilities for infants and children. Chrysalis House also provides intensive outpatient (ASAM 2.1) and standard outpatient (ASAM 1.0) options for those who have completed the residential program or for individuals seeking stand-alone services. Tailored plans involve counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), relapse prevention techniques, drug screening, and connections to housing, job opportunities, and community services. These adaptable programs support women in achieving recovery, establishing stability, and maintaining vital clinical and peer support while they transition to living independently.
