Family & Children's Services Salvation Army Office provides a range of essential services, including screening, assessment, support for homeless individuals, outpatient mental health care for adults, re-entry support for those involved in the justice system, and various community outreach initiatives. With over a hundred years of experience as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, it ensures accessibility to comprehensive services across ten different locations, making it easier for those in need to receive care promptly. The center utilizes evidence-based practices, such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), to tackle trauma effectively. These approaches aim to enhance clients' overall well-being by integrating physical, emotional, and social support tailored to their specific needs and aspirations for sustained recovery. Additionally, the center features specialized programs like the Parenting in Jail (PIJ) classes, which utilize the Parenting Inside Out® curriculum to assist incarcerated parents in improving their relationships with their children and lowering the rates of re-offending through research-backed education. The BRIDGES program is designed to aid individuals who are re-entering society from correctional facilities, ensuring that those affected by the justice system can successfully navigate their reintegration into the community with adequate support.
