Harmony Academy, founded in 2019, stands as Oregon's inaugural tuition-free public high school aimed at assisting students aged 14-21 recovering from substance use challenges. Situated in Lake Oswego, just 20 minutes from downtown Portland, the academy caters to individuals from Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, offering complimentary transportation to enhance accessibility. The institution creates a secure, substance-free, and encouraging atmosphere where learners can achieve academic success while concentrating on their personal recovery paths. Harmony Academy adopts a comprehensive approach to education and recovery. In addition to standard educational programs, the school incorporates recovery-oriented initiatives, which include daily support groups facilitated by mentors who have personally experienced recovery, individual and family counseling, and extracurricular activities intended to build community and resilience.
