Idabel Behavioral Health (Wind Horse Counseling) is situated in the far southeastern region of the Choctaw Nation and provides a variety of mental health services to individuals, families, and couples. The center addresses issues such as substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal relationship challenges. It caters to Native Americans from federally recognized tribes who possess a CDIB card, tribal membership, or descent documentation, allowing them access to services without any personal costs. Offerings include therapy for all age groups, crisis intervention, and virtual consultations. The center adopts diverse therapeutic methods, including play therapy tailored for children with special needs, peer support for veterans, and comprehensive case management. These services are designed to help clients develop coping mechanisms, enhance their relationships, and promote overall mental health. By providing a broad spectrum of therapeutic interventions, the center guarantees that each individual receives customized care fitting their specific circumstances. Idabel Behavioral Health also engages in targeted initiatives such as the Tribal Opioid Response grant, which aids individuals struggling with opioid addiction through medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Furthermore, they work alongside the Warrior Wellness program to offer culturally relevant assistance to Native American veterans, incorporating services like equine therapy, family retreats, and peer support networks. These services are primarily reserved for tribal members, with a few limitations for non-tribal individuals.

Individuals who are Native American and hold a CDIB card, Membership card, or a document confirming their lineage from a federally recognized tribe can access our services. We welcome patients with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, as well as those who do not have insurance coverage.
