Life Center of Hillsville, part of the Acadia Healthcare network, is situated in the quaint town of Hillsville, Virginia. This treatment facility spans 100 acres and features a scenic 1-mile walking trail. Staffed by a diverse team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and counselors, the center is dedicated to monitoring patient progress and making necessary adjustments to personalized care plans. They provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as engaging activities such as physical exercise, and employ various therapeutic methodologies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), 12-step programs, motivational interviewing, and experiential art therapy. Life Center of Hillsville provides both residential and partial hospitalization program (PHP) options, catering primarily to adult men grappling with substance use issues related to alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, and methamphetamine. The residential program is equipped to support individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). While medication management is available in their residential services, it is not provided for the PHP. The PHP offers comprehensive day programming several days a week, which may include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for those facing opioid addiction challenges. In accordance with Virginia state regulations and the specific nature of their services, Life Center of Hillsville is unable to accept individuals who meet any of the following conditions: actively suicidal or homicidal, on dialysis, exhibiting violent behavior, diagnosed with schizophrenia, registered as a sex offender, currently experiencing an active eating disorder, or undergoing psychosis with hallucinations or delusions.
