LifeHouse Group provides extensive residential support for men dealing with substance use issues. The center has the capacity to accommodate up to 155 individuals and creates a secure, encouraging atmosphere. Men may enter the program through various sources, including treatment referrals, the Illinois Department of Corrections, or local community initiatives. Initially, residents share rooms but have the opportunity to transition to more private accommodations as they progress. LifeHouse ensures that residents receive essential services such as meals, clothing, and personal hygiene products, with a commitment to not turning anyone away. The program encompasses more than 80 hours of diverse weekly activities that promote both mental and physical well-being. These activities feature support groups, therapeutic sessions, fitness programs, and creative pursuits like art and music. Residents benefit from tailored case management to establish personal objectives, develop life skills, seek employment, and tackle mental health or substance use issues. LifeHouse equips men with the tools necessary for a promising future by offering vocational training in areas such as construction, culinary arts, and manufacturing. They assist individuals in obtaining a GED, pursuing further education, enhancing financial competence, and receiving counseling certifications. LifeHouse also organizes job fairs, facilitating connections between residents and employers such as Amazon, UPS, and Mariano’s. Regular guest speakers contribute motivational insights on recovery, aiding residents in maintaining focus and inspiration throughout their journey toward a more fulfilling life.
