Methodist Family Health - Helena–West Helena

The Helena-West Helena campus, situated within the Ophelia Polk Moore Home, provides a specialized residential treatment program (QRTP) aimed at assisting youth aged 12 to 18 who are dealing with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Emphasizing extended care, residents stay in intimate group homes for a period of 9 to 12 months or possibly longer. The center is recognized for fostering a nurturing, family-oriented environment with a personalized care strategy. Central to the program is the teaching-family model, a well-regarded behavioral approach facilitated by trained teaching-parents residing with the residents. Through consistent mentorship, role modeling, and therapeutic assistance, young individuals acquire skills to handle their emotions, form healthy connections, and experience personal growth. Residents participate in local public educational institutions, enabling them to engage in real-world interactions that enhance their treatment and equip them for future success. Each home houses 8 to 12 youths, functioning like a cohesive family unit that promotes stability and emotional security. With around-the-clock guidance from teaching-parents, residents enjoy a routine, strong mentorship, and chances to partake in community activities. This structured environment is designed to support young people in their healing journey, personal development, and preparation for upcoming life transitions.
