About
Moving Mountains Recovery combines adventure-oriented and holistic therapy methods to support individuals facing addiction challenges. Their mission is to assist clients in discovering new interests and finding meaning in their lives outside of substance abuse. They provide flexible outpatient services, offering options from 1-2 therapy sessions weekly to over 9 hours per week split across multiple sessions, or even daily attendance for several hours. This adaptability allows participants to engage in therapy while managing work, education, or family obligations. With over 2,000 clients treated, a collective experience exceeding 100 years, and maintaining a 1:1 ratio of clients to staff, they emphasize personalized care.
At Moving Mountains Recovery, the commitment to clinical excellence is paramount. Each client receives a tailored treatment plan crafted by a skilled clinical and medical team, catering to individual requirements. The approach centers on emotionally focused therapy (EFT), which seeks to elevate awareness of challenging emotions, cultivate effective coping mechanisms, and enhance social, familial, and intimate connections. In addition, clients partake in adventure therapy, therapeutic recreation, and various engaging activities. This immersive and dynamic treatment aims to empower clients to craft a fulfilling life, leaving little space for drugs and alcohol. The center also integrates an array of holistic practices, including yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, aimed at nurturing the mental, emotional, and spiritual facets of recovery.
Moving Mountains Recovery champions adventure therapy as a means to foster self-discipline and confidence through physically and mentally stimulating experiences in natural environments. This therapeutic model merges nature, community, and physical activity to enhance a client's social, spiritual, physical, and psychological health. Activities can feature rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, camping, skiing, fishing, snowboarding, and ropes courses. This practical and experiential strategy addresses the negative mindsets often present at the onset of treatment, transforming anxiety and self-doubt into growth and resilience during the journey towards sobriety.
The recovery journey extends beyond the conclusion of treatment. Clients who graduate from Moving Mountains Recovery have the opportunity to engage in various alumni programs. This includes participating in alumni events and returning to share their experiences with individuals still undergoing the treatment process.
