Opal: Food and Body Wisdom

Opal: Food and Body Wisdom is a specialized outpatient facility dedicated to supporting adults facing various eating disorders and related obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The center offers two types of day treatment programs: a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). These structured hours enable clients to receive essential care while also allowing them to transition back to their educational or professional commitments as they progress in their recovery. The mission of Opal: Food and Body Wisdom is to liberate individuals from the constraints of diet culture and to promote a broader cultural shift concerning food, body image, movement, and mental health. The center follows a non-diet and non-weight-focused approach in its treatment methodology. By fostering a healthier relationship with food and body, Opal aims to deliver comprehensive healing experiences. Their weight-inclusive model features nutrition counseling, physical activity, and exposure therapy, all within a relational therapeutic framework that facilitates profound transformation. Additionally, Opal organizes various group activities such as creative expression, body awareness, nutrition education, and sharing personal narratives. To further support ongoing recovery, Opal also offers complimentary Alumni Groups for previous clients.
