About
Founded in February 1989, P.E.A.S.E. Academy is the oldest recovery high school in the United States, catering to students in grades 8 through 12 within a nurturing environment that prioritizes both academic success and recovery assistance. Situated within the University Lutheran Church of Hope in Minneapolis, the academy provides students with Unlimited Transit Passes, ensuring easy access via public transportation and convenient parking options.
P.E.A.S.E. Academy employs a holistic strategy for promoting student wellness. The school creates a stimulating yet supportive educational atmosphere with small class sizes, which allows for individualized attention. Recovery support is seamlessly woven into everyday experiences, featuring initiatives like peer support teams, general check-in circles for all students, access to certified substance use counselors, and various sober social events. Providers Policy
At P.E.A.S.E. Academy, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and quality educational experience for students in recovery. As a tuition-free charter school, we eliminate financial barriers to ensure that access to education is available for all eligible students.
While we do not charge tuition, families may explore additional options for support related to specialized services, supplies, or extracurricular activities that enhance the student experience. We encourage families to check with their health insurance providers regarding coverage for any mental health or substance use counseling services, as some policies may include provisions for these essential supports.
Our team is available to assist families in understanding these options and to guide them in connecting with necessary resources. By working together, we strive to empower our students not only academically but also in their recovery journey, ensuring a holistic approach to their development and well-being. Please contact our administrative office for more detailed information about available support services and payment options.
