About
Positive Sobriety Institute (PSI) is dedicated to providing treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health issues for a diverse array of professionals, such as doctors, lawyers, and executives, who operate in demanding and high-stakes environments, along with individuals seeking tailored care in a safe, confidential, and nurturing space.
Situated in downtown Chicago, PSI is managed by a multidisciplinary group of board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists, all with specialized expertise in addiction treatment. The institute focuses on meeting the complete recovery needs of its clients, enabling them to reintegrate into their personal and professional lives with renewed strength, productivity, and motivation. PSI offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that consists of an intensive treatment schedule for five days a week, along with both day and evening Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) designed to fit the busy lifestyles of professionals. Through a focus on personalized group therapy, PSI fosters a supportive atmosphere where clients can build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.
PSI employs a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities and trauma-informed practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as experiential therapies, somatic therapy, yoga, and art therapy. Additionally, PSI provides wellness activities such as nutrition guidance, mindfulness meditation, sound therapy, and strength conditioning. The center’s holistic approach to care emphasizes the importance of recognizing trauma and addiction, helping clients to comprehend their personal histories while embarking on their recovery journeys and cultivating resilience.
PSI is particularly well-suited to support professionals, including those in healthcare, the legal field, and corporate management, in their recovery while allowing them to continue their careers. The institute collaborates closely with professional health programs and other referral sources to ensure a seamless transition back into the workplace. This extensive support network guarantees that clients obtain the essential care and direction needed for lasting recovery, recognizing that the journey of recovery is an ongoing process.
