POWER House

POWER House is a rehabilitation facility dedicated to providing gender-sensitive, trauma-informed support for women facing challenges with substance abuse. It offers a comprehensive range of services aimed at promoting overall well-being, addressing both mental and physical health needs. The center is committed to delivering individualized treatment plans that empower women to establish a solid foundation for long-term recovery. The center's therapeutic approach encompasses a variety of methods, including one-on-one and group counseling sessions, trauma-focused groups, meditation, yoga, and both traditional twelve-step programs and alternative self-help meetings. On-site psychiatric evaluations and medication management services are provided by a Medical Director, as well as through collaboration with primary care professionals at Squirrel Hill Health Center. This all-encompassing care model enables women to confront their trauma, develop essential life skills, and enhance familial connections, facilitating a pathway to enduring recovery and wellness. At POWER House, women occupy one of 26 secure private bedrooms within a 24-hour supervised environment that fosters healing and community. Daily activities are structured to include therapy, physical exercise, creative arts, and social interactions to aid in recovery. The center actively encourages family involvement through visitation and counseling opportunities, and it also offers valuable resources for education, job placement, and housing assistance to support women in their reintegration into society.
