The center focuses on substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and borderline personality disorder (BPD). Treatment at all levels incorporates individual therapy, group sessions, therapeutic activities, psychoeducation, and family involvement through both multi-family groups and individual family counseling. Therapeutic approaches used include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness practices. The day treatment program at Sandstone Care involves 5 hours of therapy per day, five days a week, typically lasting between 2 to 4 weeks based on clients' needs. Following the day treatment phase, clients are recommended to transition to the intensive outpatient program (IOP), which offers around 12 hours of treatment each week, occurring 3 to 4 days a week. A dedicated advisor provides academic and vocational guidance, assisting adolescents and young adults in navigating their education and job opportunities while helping them explore career paths that suit their aspirations. Medication-assisted treatment is also available as necessary. The center's licensed clinicians, medical professionals, therapists, and academic support personnel work closely with families throughout the treatment process. Families are invited to participate in weekly multi-family sessions to connect with and learn from others in similar situations. Individual family therapy sessions are conducted biweekly to educate families about addiction and mental health issues, support recovery, establish boundaries, and foster healthy emotional communication. Upon completion of treatment, clients can connect with a vibrant alumni network that holds regular meetings and facilitates access to local resources.
