Serenity Behavioral Health is an outpatient center designed to support families and cater to adolescents and young adults aged 14 to 30 dealing with mental health challenges. The center provides two distinct levels of care: an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and a traditional outpatient program, both offered in-person and online. Serenity prioritizes a personalized treatment strategy grounded in evidence-based practices, utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and recreational activities. A unique activity they implement is a game called “feelings charades,” which encourages clients to open up about their emotions and promotes discussions around these feelings. At the heart of Serenity’s treatment philosophy is family therapy, with staff trained in family systems theory. Family counseling occurs bi-weekly, focusing on fostering understanding and collaboration among family members to address challenges together. Additionally, families can benefit from a bi-weekly parents’ group that offers educational resources and peer support.
