Serenity Outpatient Services

Located in Upper Marlboro, Serenity Outpatient Services (SOS) provides support for adults dealing with alcohol and drug addiction. The center offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that operates for 20 to 36 hours per week, along with an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that runs for 9 to 20 hours each week, as well as adaptable outpatient counseling options. Established by someone who has personally experienced recovery, SOS is a family-oriented Christian treatment center that believes in the inherent worth of every individual and their potential for recovery. The center's treatment approach incorporates the first two steps of the 12 Steps of Recovery, creating a nurturing and non-critical environment. What sets SOS apart is their comprehensive range of support services that go beyond standard therapy. They offer support to individuals, couples, and families alike. Their services include case management, assistance with Medicaid applications, DUI guidance, help with child protective services, referrals for job training, entitlement support, mental health assessments, psychiatric referrals, housing aid, and specialized services for business owners. With small group sizes, SOS fosters a family-like environment, ensuring individualized care for each participant. SOS's hours of operation are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and they have an open-door policy. Appointments can also be arranged on Tuesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. Clients have the option to attend therapy sessions either in person or online.

At this center, the focus is on addressing substance use disorders by assisting individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them to caring support systems.

SOS collaborates with Cigna, BlueCross BlueShield, and Medicaid. We also welcome out-of-network insurance plans! The treatment expenses vary based on your coverage details, including copays, co-insurance, and deductible amounts. Our team frequently assists clients in applying for Medicaid as part of our comprehensive services.
