Silvermist Recovery is a residential facility dedicated to the treatment of adult males struggling with various forms of addiction, including substance abuse and alcohol dependence, as well as co-occurring mental health issues, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The center emphasizes customized holistic treatment plans, specifically designed to meet the unique needs of each resident. They promote involvement in the 12-Step program while providing transport to and from meetings. Conditions treated at Silvermist include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. The therapeutic approaches employed at Silvermist incorporate evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), individual and group therapy, family therapy, and trauma-informed care, along with medication-assisted options. Holistic practices like mindfulness, meditation, art therapy, journaling, nature therapy, experiential therapy, and equine therapy are integral to their programs. With dual accreditations in both addiction and mental health treatment, Silvermist stands out as a comprehensive dual-diagnosis facility. Clients reside in specialized homes tailored for both addiction recovery and mental wellness, emphasizing acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to restore a sense of autonomy and duty. Trauma-informed care is a key element of the healing process, enabling clients to address and overcome past experiences as they progress in their recovery journeys. Silvermist has developed a two-phase trauma program designed to create a trusting and secure environment for patients before engaging in more intensive therapeutic interventions. Utilizing the principles of polyvagal theory, which activates the vagus nerve to soothe the nervous system, clients are provided with tools to alleviate trauma-related symptoms. A diverse array of therapeutic approaches is combined to best suit each individual, leading to sustainable recovery. Nestled on 30 picturesque acres in the serene hills of western Pennsylvania, Silvermist offers both private and shared accommodations. The center can comfortably host 25 clients across four distinct residences, each featuring modern amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. Facilities include a fitness center, yoga studio, a large swimming pool, outdoor lounge areas, walking paths, a home theater, and opportunities for equine therapy and horseback riding. Additionally, residents can engage in off-site activities such as hiking, swimming, bowling, and other adventurous outings. Silvermist holds accreditation from CARF and is certified by LegitScript.
