Sobrius

Sobrius is a residential rehabilitation facility situated in the serene landscape of Galax, Virginia. This center utilizes an innovative cohort care model, accommodating 10 to 16 residents in gender-segregated living arrangements. By participating in the 30-day residential program as a cohesive group, clients start and complete their treatment journey together, fostering deep connections that support their recovery process. The daily schedule is shared, featuring communal meals, workshops, and meditation sessions, which promote genuine bonds and the formation of lasting friendships among participants. The therapeutic curriculum at Sobrius adopts a comprehensive approach aimed at nurturing the entire individual—mind, body, and spirit—while being rooted in proven therapeutic practices. Sobrius addresses issues relating to substance use disorder alongside concurrent challenges such as trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. Each client's experience includes personalized sessions that integrate trauma-focused therapy, 12-Step recovery principles, life skills training, and educational discussions. Currently, Sobrius operates a men-only treatment facility, with plans for two additional centers set to open soon. The existing men's facility is situated on an elevated site, distanced from common triggers. Each room accommodates a maximum of one roommate, and clients have access to spacious common areas and expansive green spaces ideal for peaceful walks or simply unwinding while enjoying the natural surroundings.

The rehabilitation center specializes in the treatment of substance use issues and associated mental health disorders. Each individual receives a customized treatment strategy that focuses on both conditions simultaneously, ensuring a holistic approach with empathetic support for complete recovery.

At Sobrius, we understand that financial considerations should not be an additional concern when seeking treatment. Our rehabilitation program is designed to be accessible, accepting Medicaid, various major insurance providers, private payment options, and some sponsorships from community organizations.
