About
Situated in the northern suburbs of Chicago, SunCloud Health provides tailored and holistic care through a trauma-sensitive methodology. The center supports individuals grappling with substance use issues, mental health challenges, and eating disorders, with particular attention given to those facing multiple diagnoses. SunCloud features a residential treatment program with 21 beds, alongside day treatment options, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) available both in-person and online, as well as outpatient group therapies. They offer specialized IOP and day treatment programs specifically designed for adolescents, ensuring they receive thorough care and guidance on their paths to recovery.
SunCloud is committed to a deeply personalized strategy to tackle a range of conditions faced by their clients. Compassion is a core principle that shapes every engagement during treatment, beginning from the initial assessment right through to discharge planning. The center prides itself on performing detailed and individualized intakes led by therapists, enabling prospective clients to gain a clear understanding of their conditions, treatment expectations, and the level of care needed. The center’s integrative model facilitates comprehensive treatment involving a multidisciplinary team that includes a psychiatrist for medication oversight, therapists, a registered dietitian, a nurse practitioner, a family therapist, and a substance abuse counselor, as required. Acknowledging that trauma affects most individuals, SunCloud employs evidence-based therapies to address these experiences from the outset, creating an atmosphere characterized by safety, trust, cooperation, and empowerment.
SunCloud’s specialized team aids individuals with eating disorders by developing treatment plans tailored to their individual strengths, obstacles, and needs. Their approach encompasses various methodologies, such as expressive and experiential therapies, skills-based interventions, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), psychoeducation regarding eating disorders, and family therapy. They also incorporate innovative, holistic therapies such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), nutrition workshops, and body image counseling coupled with yoga practices. SunCloud applies health at every size (HAES) principles, which focus on body weight neutrality and celebrate diversity. Their treatment philosophy is centered on revitalizing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
The center introduces cutting-edge treatments to enhance traditional, evidence-based therapies and medication oversight. Among these is Spravato, a ketamine nasal spray used to aid those struggling with treatment-resistant depression. Moreover, they offer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which aims to alleviate depressive symptoms such as restlessness, insomnia, irritability, and breathlessness. These innovative treatments work synergistically with clinical talk therapy, group sessions, and medication management to support the healing journey. Upon completing their programs at SunCloud, clients can approach life with renewed confidence, as they embark on a path free from self-destructive thoughts and actions. SunCloud also fosters community through an alumni program that features a weekly virtual support group, monthly gatherings, and opportunities for community service.
