Teen Challenge Boise Girls Academy

Boise Girls Academy is a Christian residential facility situated in Nampa, approximately 20 miles from Boise, designed for girls aged 13-17 facing various behavioral challenges such as substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, self-injury, academic struggles, and risky sexual behavior. The duration of the program is generally around 15 months, with the option for extension if needed, and the cost at enrollment is $9,450, encompassing tuition, accommodations, meals, activities, hygiene products, and uniforms. Parents may inquire about potential scholarships and eligibility before their child's admission. The spiritual guidance provided includes group discussions five days a week, daily personal reflection times, church services every Sunday, and spontaneous discipleship throughout the week. Students cultivate friendships during shared meals, which are served in a family-style setting with staff. Physical activities and sports play a significant role in the program, including on-campus facilities and competitions with other institutions, particularly in volleyball. Boise Girls Academy features a gym, a pickleball court, and a basketball court. Additionally, girls can enjoy swimming, disc golf, hiking, and aerobics. Students are involved in household chores and receive training in life skills, which includes caring for farm animals like chickens, goats, a bunny, and a turkey, as well as assisting in meal preparation. Opportunities for community service are also provided both on and off campus, contributing to campus beautification and collaborations with local organizations. Every other month, Boise Girls Academy arranges parent weekends from Friday evening to Saturday evening, starting four months after a student enrolls. Each girl is assigned a staff member who leads weekly group counseling sessions and regular individual counseling, serving as a primary contact for parents to discuss their child's progress. After completing the program, students and their families receive support through a 3-5 month aftercare plan. The academic curriculum at Boise Girls Academy is conducted through Lighthouse Christian Academy and A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education). Students are concurrently enrolled in both institutions during their educational journey, with the program holding accreditation from COGNIA, NCAA, and receiving licensing from the state of Idaho.
