The Link Halfway House

The Link Halfway House is a certified residential program catering to adult men aged 19 and older who are overcoming chronic addiction and related mental health challenges. Participants must have completed a short-term treatment program and maintained sobriety for at least 30 days. This program offers a structured environment for 9 to 12 months, focusing on individuals in recovery who do not require intensive treatment anymore. The treatment approach is based on the 12-step philosophy and emphasizes a holistic perspective. Each resident is provided with a customized plan that incorporates individual and group therapy, educational sessions, relapse prevention strategies, career coaching, and essential life skills development. Skilled counselors and peer recovery specialists actively engage with residents to foster emotional health, accountability, and sustainable recovery techniques. Residents are accommodated in a secure, homelike environment with round-the-clock staffing. They are expected to work for 40 hours a week or volunteer for 20 hours if they are recipients of disability benefits, along with managing their medications. Upon completing the program, graduates are eligible for complimentary outpatient therapy and can participate in a supportive alumni network. Many continue their recovery journey at nearby Lincoln or Truman Houses, which provide additional structure and community support.
