APT Foundation Legion Clinic

APT Legion Clinic located in New Haven provides a range of services for those dealing with substance use issues and related mental health disorders. These services encompass group, individual, and family therapies, as well as medication management and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The center features an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that operates three times a week, allowing participants to engage in at least 9 hours of group therapy, individual counseling, and psychiatric evaluation weekly. At APT Legion Clinic, clients receive care that is trauma-informed and based on proven methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Daily group sessions cover various subjects, including trauma recovery, stress management, job skills, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, goal setting, expressive arts, tai chi, meditation, and mindfulness practices. MAT options, including methadone and buprenorphine, are available, with psychiatrists overseeing medication prescriptions and necessary adjustments. In addition, clients have the option to participate in therapy sessions through telehealth, ensuring access during public health crises. The clinic also provides family and couples therapy to assist clients in reaching their relational objectives. The APT Foundation has been dedicated to substance use treatment since 1970, committed to offering care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances, through an open access model.
